HONORING The HERITAGE
As a Civil War reenactment unit, we are dedicated to Civil War education and preserving the legacy of Battery I, 1st NY Light Artillery. Our mission is to honor the bravery and preserve the memory of those who served during the conflict through authentic historical reenactment.
Through research and community, this site is a place where history is recorded and shared. We recruit new members here nationwide to crew our 3-inch Ordnance Rifle in live fire training exercises, as well as firing and static reenactment events across the country, Photos of past events and our schedule are also posted here.

No American who lived during the Civil War emerged from it unchanged. Please hit the play button above right, scroll through the images below, and consider the debt we owe to those who sacrificed so much to preserve our Nation and, as Lincoln said, grant it "a new birth of freedom...that (the) government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."
